The Unilever Food & Health Research Institute (UFHRI) is Unilever’s central research institute for the Food Business. UFHRI creates and delivers business relevant solutions to brand innovation programmes, based on science and technology. For the Consumer Perception & Behaviour group (CP&B), the UFHRI is looking for two cognitive psychologists/neuroscientist.
Conditioning and Reward learning (

You have expertise in conditioning and models of reward learning and
first-hand experience in running behavioural and cognitive
experiments.
Multisensory perception (
113284)
You have expertise in the area of multisensory perception and
first-hand experience in running behavioural and cognitive experiments
in the context of sensory research.
Your role:
You will contribute to internal and external research projects and
collaborations, and represent Unilever to external researchers. You
will be responsible for delivering high-quality scientific support to
our business. In addition, you will help establish and manage new
strategic research themes which ensure the continuity of our scientific
expertise whilst also generating new ideas and longer-term
opportunities for our business. Specific tasks are:
- Provide up-to-date expertise on one or more selected topics within the fields mentioned above;
- Monitor scientific developments in these fields, in order to assess their relevance to and impact for the business;
- Generate and develop new ideas for the Unilever business, and initiate and manage qualitative and quantitative project activities in these areas;
- Carry out literature-, cross-category- and/or other reviews, synthesising information and memos, reports, and/or presentations for different audiences
- (e.g. scientists, product developers, marketeers) in English;
- Analyse, interpret and present qualitative and quantitative data;
- Publish scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals;
- Obtain research grants and create collaborations with external partners;
- Represent CP&B at scientific congresses and conferences;
- Provide creative solutions for specific objectives/problems in projects.
Your background:
- Doctoral degree (PhD) in one of the areas mentioned above;
- A strong publication record;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (in English);
- An active international academic network;
- An interest in working outside your current area of expertise and ability to do so;
- Knowledge of or experience with functional and/or structural neuro-imaging techniques is desirable;
- Preference will be given to candidates with industrial research experience on these relevant research areas.
