Postdoctoral/lecturer and PhD student positions in artificial intelligence and machine learning
Several postdoctoral/lecturer and PhD student positions are now available in the area of artificial intelligence and machine learning at the Information and Knowledge Systems group of the Radboud University Nijmegen. The focus of the research is on Bayesian machine learning and probabilistic artificial intelligence with applications to (among others) brain-computer interfacing, preference elicitation, and multi-task learning. Two PhD-students “Numerosity in Dutch and related languages” (1.0 fte)
Within the research group Grammar and Cognition the organization of the mental lexicon is one of the topics of investigation. Compounding, one of the most creative and productive aspects of Dutch word formation, offers the opportunity to study the relation between form (the choice of a linking element, and rhythm), meaning (numerosity of the modifiers of a compound), and knowledge of language. In a series of rating and lexical decision experiments, the interplay of these aspects will be investigated. Participants will be speakers of standard Dutch, dialects of Dutch, and languages related to Dutch, such as English, German, Frisian, and Afrikaans.
