How can I add content to cognitie.NL

Adding content (jobs, news, events, courses etc.) to cognitie.NL is as easy as counting to five. Just follow the five simple steps below.

  1. Log in. Only members can add content, becoming a member is free and shouldn't take more then a minute.

  2. Select from the [quick member options] the item that you would like to add. Members can add: Events, News, Courses and Jobs. The quick member options menu will automatically show up under the main navigation menu when you are logged in.

  3. Fill out the appropriate fields and information, fields marked with a red square are required.

  4. Save your item.

  5. Submit your item for reviewing.

Why should I submit my item after saving?

When an item is created, it’s given an initial state, called public draft. By default, content isn’t automatically published and available to the world; instead, others can view your content only if they know where to look. This way you can work on an item or show it to others before publication (you can read more about content states here).

You can publish your item, by changing the status using the state drop-down menu (see figure 1) which you can find in the top right corner of your item. By default you can't directly publish your item, but you can submit it for review. After submitting, the status of your item changes in pending. When your item has been reviewed, the status will change to Published.

If you don't submit, your item will not be published, this means that it doesn't show up on the frontpage, calendar, navigation menu or cognition newsletter (NWO Cognition email alert). You can however see the item if you know the direct url. Or when you click My items in the quick member options menu.
